A little while ago, I expanded my small Kershaw collection and bought a used tanto Blur on ebay for about $21. I'm not a fan of the serrations but the price was right and I figure it could be useful while camping. When I received it I found that the action sounded very gritty and there was a very small tooth chipped off the one of the serrations. The knife was very well used but lock up was still great. I sent it to Kershaw for a tune up and to have it resharpened (I didn't have my SharpMaker then). I included a letter with the knife explaining how I bought it used on Ebay so I was not the original owner and did not expect it to be covered under warranty. I also offered to pay for all the services done to it. Well I got it back from Kershaw yesterday and found that they replaced the whole blade. They never billed me for any of the work and the turn around time was quick
Also, while the Blur was at Kershaw, my torsion spring broke on my Leek. I called Kershaw, spoke to what sounded like a very young kid, and was sent a replacement spring, a spare spring, and the Kershaw torx tool all for free. And no, I didn't ask for the tool. The kid asked if I had the torx bits and I said no, he said he would include the tool.
I'm very impressed with Kershaw's customer service. I can not fault them for anything. A+ service all around!
On a side note, for those that remember me, my collection was grown. I first got my Leek (I still love it), then I won my Nascar Leek (thanks again!), then I got my Tanto Blur, and now a SG2 Blur that should be delivered anytime now (a late birthday present). I can't wait for the SG2 to get here.
