Sorry to digress, but with the Gunting, you may find that it has some great features that you cannot find in any other knife, then at the same time, it is so unlike the normal folder that it is difficult to carry w/o a holster.
First, the handle is really, really good. You can hold the G and ram it into a coconut, twist it out, and your grip will not be compromised.
Then the lock really feels very strong, it's like a fixed blade. It is supposed to hold 1000 lbs or something like that, doesn't matter, it feels the strongest I've ever held.
Now, my personal problems with it....I also don't like holsters for folders. Living in the tropics, we wear no jackets and I cannot carry discretely. An LEO would have no problem, but that is not my line now. Even in the pocket or IWB, it sticks up real high, so it's not discrete, and with that ramp, I always worry abt it opening accidentally.
Bram says screw it tight and this won't happen, but personally I find that it does not help much. This is because, IMHO, the first little bit the knife opens is mainly determined by the strength of the detent, not tightness of the pivot screw.
If I tighten the pivot until I cannot open the first little bit easily, then the blade movement gets way too stiff towards the lock-open position, until you can't even Kin-Op it.
Apart from these apparent carrying problems, this is really a great knife, and you can see how much I think of it because I have spent quite a bit of time thinking how to make it easier for myself to carry it.
For me, once the knife is open, NOTHING can touch it. It is the carrying that is the problem to me.
Wishing you well in your knife selection.
