Two choices..
A. Large Sebenza 21, Insingo.
B. Farid Mehr Mini K2 (not the Spyderco, the real thing).

The Sebenza pros/cons are well documented.
There isn't much info out there about the Mini K2 (D3 blade).
They're very similar in overall length. The K2 intrigues me with the D3 steel, overall heft, and I really dig the color. Both are fairly pricey..the K2 is $550. I've never bought a knife that expensive.

Any insight/opinions?

The sebenza is a great knife, but there is somthing nice about having a custom too! One thing to think about is the sebenza warranty and ability to send it back any time to get it tuned up or returned to new condition. The sebenza will also be a lot easier to sharpen. The Farid is a wicked looking knife though, I don't think you can go wrong with either one.
Why not make yourself a list of pros and cons for you, because a lot of what makes a knife great is personal opinion.

I'd pick the custom hands down. With all the CRK disciples out there CRKs gunna be around for a while.

I don't own a K-2 but have looked at them.

I'd pick the Sebenza. Hell of a well made, sturdy knife. Plus, I like the versatility of the insingo blade.

The handle shape of the K2 would make me leery, unless I had a chance to handle one first. If it fits, I think it would be great...a little off, and it would relegate the knife to a drawer. On the other side of the coin, the 21 is no ergonomic masterpiece. The shape is basic and functional - it is not uncomfortable; but neither is it a knife that feels good in hand (IMO). Both knives have a somewhat unusual blade shape; and those shapes are likely to invoke strong reactions - people will either like them, or they won't. I don't generally make purchasing decisions based on anticipated public response...but the insingo is more likely to be viewed as a tool, whereas the K2 would more likely be viewed as a weapon.
Since you commented on the price, the K2 is a bigger step for you. If you love it, by all means, go for it.
I'm not a big CRK fan - I recognize the quality, but I'm just not thrilled with the total package (in fact, I recently purchased, and have subsequently sold my first two 21s)...but the K2, based solely on images, does not particularly appeal to me, either. Of the two, though, I'd probably choose the Insingo.
I suspect that the K2 will feel like a more substantial knife, if you are planning on using it hard, that could be a consideration. Good luck with your choice...post pics when you get it.

I'm a big guy with big hands..I tend to find classically ergonomic knives too small for my liking.
My tastes also tend to differ from the status quo.
