Had another nice hike yesterday... explored an area that I had not been to previously. It was nice and sunny, but a bit colder than it has been (not too bad... about freezing level).

Hope you enjoy the pics!

I believe this is an oriole nest, from the information I could find online:

This was an interesting pattern in ice, which had formed on a water-filled hole from a fallen tree:

Stopped for the usual pine needle tea at the turnaround point:

My knives for the day... a Busse Boss Jack and an Ed Caffrey EBK 1:

Amazing scenery, looks like a very enjoyable trip! Thanks for sharing the photos!

Thanks for the comments.

It's a great area... I explore around there at least 2-3 weekends/month. One nice thing is that the main trail is pretty much directly east-west, and parallels a road just north of it. This means that I can pretty much wander aimlessly anywhere to the south, and when it's time to find the trail I just have to head due north. I explore a different area most of the times I'm out there.

Great pics buddy, I love hiking the most when it's freezing out !

That Busse looks great, they should offer them all with a choiless option !

What a great landscape! Outstanding! I really like it there!

Here in Germany the landscape is pretty different. Nice place.

I gonna make a post on my next dayhike in the bavarian woods!

Thank for sharing this!

Kind regards
