Hi,

Just returned from a nice day hike in Whiteshell Provincial Park in Manitoba.

A couple of nice river views:

The woods:

A fallen birch, showing the marks from a sapsucker:

Most of this is labrador tea; the leaves are wilted from repeated frosts:

A nice big piece of true tinder fungus, about to be harvested :)

Very nice. Always to great when you find a big piece of chaga. Don't forget to make tea out of the useless outer blackstuff!

Thanks for the comments :)

Great pics buddy, but treat yourself to a decent blade !:D

I'll try :)

Like most of us here, I have more blades than I need... the Woodlore is the one I take out most.

I just ordered this one - a Masao Takahashi/Shosui Takeda collaboration - couldn't pass up the beautiful popcorn stag and great steel (photo from Knifeart.com site):

I've read about that, but haven't tried it yet. Do you just scrape off the black part and use a tea ball?
