I took the little guy out on a hike again today. The recent rain closed off the river paths so we did the same one as last time. Its a pretty nice path and we went a lot farther down it this time.
We took his little digital microscope to look at some of the bugs and such close up.

He decided that superman should be the trail leader.

We stopped for lunch at our usual log. A bit off the path but a great place to sit and eat.

Of course the meal included bacon! Turkey, bacon, and cheese.

The pack of the day was just a normal USGI assault pack. Oddly enough my wifes Rachel Ray lunch bag fits like it was made for the front pouch of this thing. Weird!

We also had these little whistle / light / carabineer things from Target. Cheap but not bad for 4 bucks.
[/IMG]
We found a little salamander and a centipede in our digging.

Some random red bugs that were everywhere.

Even with the heavy rain there was plenty of tinder should we need to start a fire.

Not sure what happened in this trees past but from the funky part up, it looks like a perfectly normal tree.

The little guy took a picture of me in my hiking pose.

Here are some random knife shots we took this trip. He took his 14 and I took my 11csm.

The best thing about the 11 is that at the end of a long hike it looks at you and says here, let me help you with that.

Hope you enjoyed the pics.
