Another hollow grind

Customer order for a hollow grind field knife. This is also the first time using cocobolo wood. It has a 5" blade and 5" handle. 3/16" by 1 1/2" D2. What do ya think?

Personally, I like the looks of this one, at least as much as the convex versions. Maybe more. Looks like a cuttin fool! :)


As for the wood; Cocobolo always looks great. Up until the time when it kills you while working with it. Be careful with that stuff!
 
Thanks Danbo. It sure is messy wood. I use my 4x36 belt sander outside to shape the handles. Same with micarta.

I like that blade shape.....be sure to post pictures of the blade I sent you when you get it ground :)

Well can see them now, a few minits ago couldn't see anything but a couple red x's. Looks good, good blade shape and love the handle, bet it's real comforatble in the hand.
 
Thanks guys.;) Brian I will post a pic. Will, I really like doing the contoured handle and yes it does feel good in the hand. As nice as a hollow grind can look, I still prefer a full convex.
