Given enough time, will horn cure on its own?

I've used horn handles before and none of them has developed a crack before. I have one with a crack that was a blem but I bought it like that.

So, if I goop the handles and stuff them in a closet for say a year, will they cure or stabilize without any further treatment?

Would it be beneficial to boil the handles to reflow the laha and therefore relieve any pressure inside the handle?

The cracked kukri I have had a slight crack upon arrival. That crack expanded quickly, though I'm not sure if I had tested it yet.

Yeah, this cracking horn stuff gets kind of scary. Still, I just keep giving my AK an occasional rubdown with some udder balm. After that, I continue the beating :D

Bruise, I think Horn will cure on the blade- but might crack doing so.

Time cures all of us Bruise- or takes us away.
I have several cracks myself.
