Another infringement on patent?

This could be interpreted as mere flattery and a way to express love and pay homage to a blade master. At any rate, I have seen the talon hole numerous times before on other custom blades. I doubt it represents legal infringement unless it is a patented design element or a registered trademark...if it does then legal action can be taken.

YES, the lower front guard hole is a REGISTERED TRADEMARK of Busse Knife Co.

When we discuss legal matters with other manufacturers we prefer to handle these issues in a private and professional manner.

I can tell you that ALL of the manufacturers who have used the mark and who were contacted by us, have been very cooperative in removing the mark from there product line. In all cases thus far, the behavior of the gentlemen contacted has been commendable.

Some of the manufacturers that were mentioned in this thread as still using the mark, DO NOT continue to use our trademarked guard hole.

Hey guys,

I doubt it will amount to anything and had no intention of copying someones trade mark hole, it was a custom order that fell through and he had asked for the hole there that I didnt have drawn on my origanal sketch, I quite like it though.

Any way it wasnt intentional sorry to whomever is offended otherwise I think the blade is quite origanal.

The maker

I have seen the hole before, and I wasnt aware that busse was the only one to use it, like I said it was the customers request and I really do like it. Im in the business of giving the customer what he or she would like on there blade. I have had a request for a drop point version that I will be makeing (with the hole)

Apologies to those that think it was a copy or copy cat of a busse blade.

Aside from the controversy, that is great looking blade koonsie:thumbup:!

I will 2nd that. It is a work of art.
I didn't mean to stir up
trouble for you. I just know that Jerry would want to know about it.
Im a big fan of the Busse family knives.

I personally don't see any problems on that knife especially since it's a custom knife.

Beautiful work BTW.

There really is no reason to keep dragging this up in public like this. If you see something Jerry should know about, email him or someone else at Busse. Threads like this come off as petty and it's become something of a joke throughout the rest of the forum.

My thoughts exactly.

Agreed. This is a custom order, and many other makers who have used this, and been identified, were filling custom orders as well. In the future, let's keep these threads to production items only--it makes the Busse subforum appear petty.

Morgan

so you are now knowingly going to make another knife with another makers trade marked design feature ?
