Thank you to everyone who told me the below inlays are Snakewood. That helped a lot. My other question is:

attachment.php

Can you identify the inlays on this Sebenza and is that an example of the polished blade? Thanks again!

Looks like snakewood. You can order the blade either way, I believe.

That is Snakewood and only have seen them in a polished blade and obviously Damascus. Beautiful knife and I have mine sitting right next to me.

Looks like a large snakewood 21 with a stainless Raindrop Damascus blade :)

Man that's a sweet Sebenza!!!!

And, if you order from Chris Reeve they will build your Sebenza any way you want.... Just remember they are doing the "Idaho Made" thing on the locking side now :( Most wood inlays have polished blades, so if your looking for used because you don't like the new "Idaho Made" your going to have a hard time finding a preowned large snakewood with a tumbled blade.

. . . [W]hat type of inlays are on the above Sebenza? I really like the look but wasn't able to figure it out.

That's snakewood (Piratinera guianensis). I have a snakewood Mnandi, and it's splendiferous! Pix on the web just don't do it justice, but here's the idea:

Jeeeezuss... I love the contrast on that damascus blade. I wish mine was like that. Mine is more of a dull grey then a black like on that one. Love it....

Thanks everyone. I think I will likely order it new once I have the money. The Idaho Made isn't enough of a detractor for me. I would rather get exactly what I want. Dual silver lugs and a tumbled blade.

Thanks again!

Second pic is also snakewood. Blade looks polished, but it's a little hard to tell from that angle.

FYI, the pattern in the wood is not always consistent. So if you plan on buying a snakewood CRK, ask for pix of the actual knife if possible.

I'm picky about my inlays, so I had the seller of the snakewood Mnandi I was interested in send me pix of the actual knife I would be receiving. They were happy to oblige. And I bought it, and I love it. Seller was Peas & Corn, I do believe. Looks like they have one in stock too:

Thanks for the heads up. If I end up getting one, I will likely order direct from CRK so I can get the dual silver lugs. I like the deeper red of the Snakewood almost more so than the pattern.

Thanks again for the info!
