Hello,

I wanted to make a very simple but versatile combat axe, and this is the result:

Pretty straightforward: 2 tips, 1 edge, easy to sharpen.

Thanks for watching

That's cool. Your handles look great, as does your spalting!

Matt

EDIT: or maybe that's more a patina than spalting?

This will do more slicing than chopping through.

A little generous on the beard side would have been better for the reach. The direction of chop (for an axe) should always be perpendicular to your grip.

By adding bulk to the bottom you can also add a swedge/false edge on the upper tip to make it a real stabber.

In fact this is not exactly an axe or a hawk, but because of its use I posted it here. The idea behind this design is being able to open a wound wether with the "horizontal tip" by hitting with it, or by stabbing with the "upper tip", plus being able to slash. Any chopping was intended with this model.

Nice looking work...Looks like it would work good for a skinner !
