It was made for an individual who is in the armed forces as per his specs.A knife is an edged tool irregardless of the form or style of the knife.the perspective you've placed on the knife as it being cruel is far from the truth,it's not the knife that is cruel,it's either the perspective view of the person looking at it or the owner, most knives of this style end up just sitting in a collection and not used, while others are used for personnel protection or as in this case it's a tool for a soldier while he's performing his duty protecting and serving his country.with that said i hope you shall reconsider your oppinions the next time you see any type of knife or edged tool and think just a touch more with what i have just said

geerts: Picture this your in a combat or unfreindly zone, or maybe a bad part of NY city or Chicago. The chips are down and you could be out , Bare hands versus this ugly backup,is it that ugly now!! or better yet you are one of the unfortunate dudes who has volunteered for the bush bullshit, some towell head is looking to have you , how absurd is this backup! Put yourself in this mans place, there is a time and space for everything, it may not be pretty but it may save your ass!!

too "cruel?" I find that comment to be both puzzling and amusing. And if i made tactical knives, I would take it as a compliment....lol You will probably think that the 12 inch bowie that I am currently forging is cruel and unusual..............I personally find the knife to be a bit too "push dagger-esque":D
