Several months ago, one of my knife making friends and I were headed to Newt's to pick up some 1084 for making some damascus. Newt had a little of the old batch of 1084 and I was hoping to get some before it was no longer available, or so I had heard. We talked about knives, naturally, and thought it would be nice to have some sort of group in our part of the country.
The was the start of what is called the "Knife Group Association", a no cost membership group that meets once a month for a couple of hours to talk about knives and maybe a little demo on something relating to knives. We invite all people that have "anything" of knife interest to attend.
For the members that don't have a web site and do have knives for sale, I have put them up a page. If any one would like to look, they are on the KGA Member page of my web site. Some of them have made knives for 30 years and some have made knives for less than a year. Some are very good, and some are still learning. The contact information is listed with each member that has knives for sale. For the ones that have email, a word of encouragement may help :), at least it does me.
Thank you for taking the time to look.
I will try to make a hot link here.

There are some really nice knives on that page.

Ray, Ray, Ray, you have to get more pictures of your knives up on your site. That damascus Bowie looks great and I would love to see more of your Bowies.

I am still working on the site and it is hard to have a bunch of pictures of knives when I haven't been able to work on them since March. I went back to work Monday and it feels good to be able to do things again. Thank you for looking at the knives.
Some of the makers have never even been to a custom knife show and there are a few that I haven't gotten a picture of their knives yet. I also heard that Al Lawrence "Uncle Al" has started a similiar service called "Uncle Al's Pals". That would be great as I think it is a very good idea and it helps educate a few more people about knife making.

Ray, hope you are doing well and feeling better. Forget the website :D and get going on those test knives ;).
I am looking forward to another good time with you in June (or whenever you are ready)!
Just kidding on the site. It would be great to see more of your work out there for us to drool over.

Gus, as you know, most of my MS knives are already spoken for, but, if, after I have them looked at and approved at the hammer-ins or by an MS, I will post them for critique. I do appreciate all the good knife people that have taken the time to drop by my web site and check out some of the makers. Another reason I don't feel bad about asking you to look is that it doesn't involve any of my knives for sale at the present time. It feels so good to be able to do anything, it is hard to figure out what needs the attention first, (besides me) :).
Again, thanks for looking.

I would like to say "Thank You" to all those that took the time to email some of the members and talk about their knives. The positive feed back was appreciated and I just want to say that it did make a difference.
