Let me start off by saying the reason I ask this question and the last question on this matter is because I know nothing on it other then dont bring it. I look it up on google and I still dont find a answer. Every question I ask, I want to know if it can be done legally, if it cant then I want no part in it, the legality part is the whole reason why I am asking this question.

Also I want to make another thing clear, when I say on a plane, I dont mean out, I mean in a suit case, that has been legally inspected by TSA like all luggage. It is the just the fact of having it when I get to my destination, to have for fun or whatever. Again I want to legal way.

Is it legal to have a balisong trainer, I think I can answer this one and say, it is illegal to have but figured I would ask.

The other question can you legally have a balisong pen, it has no resemblance to a balisong other then that it flips.

Again I am asking these questions for information, not so I can start taking this stuff with me, as even if it was legal I still would not bring it.

For the billionth time, this is solely speaking to a legal outlook.

I don't know about a balisong trainer, but I would think it's OK. I'm sure the Bali-Yo pen is legal. Just be sure it's legal where you're disembarking. :)

Given that properly inspected firearms can travel in hold baggage, your trainer and pen should be fine.

as far as I can tell, trainers aren't considered knives (not sharp no edge) so shouldn't be a problem in checked luggage. shouldn't be a prob in carry-on, but you're sure to attract a lot of unwanted attention so it's probably not a good idea.

I've had a bunch of knives in my checked luggage and have even had my locks cut off and TSA inspected and my knives have made it from point A to B no probs (so far, knock on wood). Although I haven't done it with a bali.

trainer balisong might get pulled as an impact weapon... depends on the TSA agent.

Bali pen... it's a pen, I can't see any cause for alarm. I carry a Zebra pen on planes, whatever the metal one is called.

I generally have my suitcase carry on, so I guess the trainer is out of the question.

Although I guess if one travels up North balisong related stuff might be harder to bring, although going to south or something I can see it would be less of a issue.

You can carry any knife in your "checked" bag. Where you might get in trouble is the legality of having that blade at your destination. Make sure the blade is legal at your destination (for example don't take an automatic knife to California, etc)

As for carrying stuff like a balisong pen....that comes down to the security agents you meet. Some people have been denied entry onto airplanes with car keys that flip open (made that way from the auto manufacturer), one girl was denied entry because her purse had a stamped metallic pistol on it (that was definitely not a real weapon), many people have been denied entry with peanut butter(its a "gel" like substance that could be a bomb), while others go through no problem. The list goes on.
