Hey guys, another knife recommendation request.

Last time I end asked I got some really good feedback, and decided to go with the Benchmade Triage. Hopefully his field experience will allow to me post some critiques of the knife.

Anyways, I know this chick who's into knives. Now, her taste isn't quite as refined...let me rephrase that. Her knowledge of knives isn't quite as extensive as those on this forum, thereby resulting in what I deem somewhat poor choices of knives. (She recently purchased a Winchester fixed blade), had I had some sort of hold over her, I would have pushed a Becker on her, but whatever.

Long story short, she ALWAYS carries a knife on her. She's a waitress, and you guys know how most waitresses at a bar dress: tight little shorts and the like. Instead of keeping a knife carried in her pocket (which doesn't really work on girls pants), she keeps it clipped inside her waistband.

What would you recommend that has good fit and finish, one handed opening and closing, and slim enough for IWB carry.

Now, originally, I suggested a Spyderco paramilitary. However, she doesn't like the lockback feature, otherwise, its slim handle would've been perfect.

The para does not have a backlock. Is it the Endura you are referring to? Anyways Spyderco makes many slim knives...does she have any preferences or requirements regarding size?

BM 530, if she likes the solid feel of disposable plastic utensils. Or the possibility of blade deployment while carrying IWB due to the pretty weak retention on the Axis lock.

I would probably only recomend something with a lockback design assuming it's carried tip-up. Even for tip-down strong blade retention is preferable IWB. (Para is a compression lock)

Something like a Spyderco Dragonfly could probably work. The texture of the handle is something upto her personal tastes, as that matters a lot for IWB as well. I love my CS Hold Out III for my slim, light knife choice, but it probably wouldn't do very well IWB as the aggressive G-10 would likely pull on any clothing material inside all day. And definitely not good for bare skin.

Kershaw Shallot, problem solved ;)
If that doesn't work you can always offer up a Smatchet.
