Another Kydex Molding Question

Ok, so I molded my first kydex sheath, with one problem.

The kydex is totally molded around the hand guard and the knife doesnt come out. Am I sopposed to place something around the blade/hand guard there before putting it in the press, or should i re-heat with the heat gun and mold it out by hand?

Yes You have to make room where you think you need it to allow for clearance in the sheath.
