Thought I'd show the latest edition of this style sheath. It combines the custom kydex liner with a leather outer and has both fire steel loop and a pouch for sharpening stones. The pouch is designed for stones but could easily carry small essentials and is removable. Carry options are crossdraw or vertical and a true horizontal loop could be added. The knife shown is a Bushcrafter and this sheath is set to carry an Adventure Sworn in place of the Bushcrafter in it's own kydex pouch. The fit is really nice and tight with either knife in the leather outer.

Very nice.

Looked at something similar from MartinSheaths and been comtemplating getting something like that for my Bushfingers.

Martin does really nice work! I've looked a pictures of several of his sheaths and they sure helped me refine what I wanted to accomplish.

Would the leather outer fit kydex inserts for two different knives like the Bushfinger and Ladyfinger? I like the way kydex works, just not the way it looks..

The leather outer will fit several different knives. This one was made to hold the shown Bushcrafter and another knife which is about 3/4" longer in the blade and not as wide as the Bushcrafter. A Bushfinger and Ladyfinger should be no problem in the same leather outer. Kydex is sure not my favorite thing, but it has some superior aspects over leather. This has been my goal-take those advantages of the kydex, incorporate the warmth of leather, and make a good looking, very functional sheath. As long as there are enough cows, I'll never get away from leather:D, but this is a way to get the best of both worlds.

Might have to get in touch with you about something later. Need to talk to Andy a bit first...

Rick, the interchangeable inserts is a genius idea. Would you have a set of standard models that worked together? Like Bushfinger/Ladyfinger/Bushcrafter.....Terrasaur/Woodsman...etc. I'm on for 1 (or 2).

Martin does make a great product but there are some drawbacks. You have to mail your Knife to the Netherlands (not cheap), unless you want a Sheath for a stock knife like Bark River, Falkniven or similar knife. It takes a very long time, about a 6-8 week turnaround. You may also get hit with an import tax that could cost you another $50+. Martin also charges about 30% more than Rick. Rick also makes the best crossdraw option I've seen. The sheath does not move on the belt whether you are drawing or sheathing the Knife, which allows for one handed operation.

blaid- There are some combinations that don't seem quite workable i.e. Runt/Camp knife:D, but most similar shapes will work. I think a Woodsman/Terr. should be within a working limit.

Dang Rick. I like that a lot. The modularity of it is very cool!
