Another light thread: Best Value?

With the multitude of recent threads on this sub-forum, I've overwhelmed with the choices available for an EDC/compact flashlight. Could anyone give me a good idea (recommendations, even) for a quality flashlight that's also a great value?

I'm impressed that Surefire upgraded their G2X to 320 lumens (first version had 200) and kept it at the same MSRP.

So far, I've looked at the Fenix and Streamlight line. I'm interested in single AA power, primarily. But, I see that single CRa123A offers substantially better output in the same package with cold weather benefits as well. Streamlight Microstream and Fenix LD12/PD22 have caught my eye. Do these offer quality for the price?

Thanks!

I have a Fenix E11, and 105 Lumens is more than enough for most EDC type uses.

Most compact, and best price for that kind of power. I am pretty sure you can get em around $25!

The larger lights were just not comfortable to carry in a pocket, and I use the light alot, so I am not willing to pay for CR123's.

Both lights you mentioned are good. You can use lithium AA to have to cold weather covered. You could even purchase rechargeable lithium 14500 batts. and have more voltage than a statdard cr123. I would recommend a peak el capitan, because I only buy usa made lights. When someone asks for a good value light I usually point them at the 4sevens quark even though its an import.

Streamlight is a quality manufacturer but I think Fenix offers more bang for the buck.

I carried a Fenix P1 for awhile. This is an older model with Luxeon LED, the newer ones with Cree LED would have more output. I bought a new LD01 for EDC because it is very small. I bought a Fenix PD32 for when I needed more output. It fits in my jeans pockets but is too big for EDC because I have lots of other stuff to go into those pockets.

Ended up picking up a Microstream Streamlight after watching some of the YT reviews. So far, very impressed with this little light. I've had an Inova X1 gen 1 for a long time. Sure, there's the Inova Xs for $7 more producing twice the power output. Or, even the Fenix E-series as recommended here. But, I like the simplicity of the tail-cap switch without maneuvering the head to adjust the beam. Good combo with the Photon II already on my keychain. Pretty happy.
