I found this by following one of Bruise's posts earlier today.

Scroll down and you'll find some interesting designs, quite a few kukri's too.

I believe you need to be a gold member to post pics...

I think basic members have to link from somewhere else. If you have a few megapopsicles of webspace it's not a problem.

No, basic members can post pics by down/up? loading them. You're just limited on size, the same with private messages.;)

Bamboo when you go too post if you scroll down just a little you'll see another panel. Click on manage attachments and it will give you a popup that will let you post your pic.
Click on Browse: and it will take you too your doc/pics and then you just double click on the one you want too post. Here's a pic of my panel that drops down.

Yvsa, thanks for the info.

I couldn't find this anywhere on the Posting page. All I have under this box is 'additional options,' 'topic review,' and 'posting rules.' Add. options doesn't offer much, and posting rules tells me I can't post attachments ....

Just got my second chiclet! Thanks all. :D

Jody Sampson is famous for his incredible grinding ability. I only wish he would render a khukuri more clasically, by copying either a modern Nepalese or antique example... I'm sure he'd be welcomed at BirGhorka, if he'd accept the customary offer of $5.00 a day, and all the rice he can eat. :D

Oh, okay! I just looked and saw that you are a registered user, not a basic member. A basic membership is 10 bux a year and well worth it IMO, besides it's a way too support the forums for those of us who are on tight budgets.:D

Thank you Sir! I'll pony up the $10 asap. I think it is completely worth it.

I guess I'm just a bit traditional (read: stick in the mud). None of those kukris looked kukri-enough for me. Now, the gladius and the saber/cutlass were pretty nifty, but I think HI kukris are neater than the "fantasy" kukris.

I really liked the handle work - clearly an expert in his craft.

LOL, DrDan! (wages)

Yup, and he is a pretty damned good sword designer too.:D

Jody Sampson is a master at grinding. Somewhere around here I have a balisong that he ground for me while at Pacific Cutlery. It has been a hard use blade for 25 years now and still flys beautifully.

I'm really drawn to his leather wrapped handles. Picture from the knife show makes you want to reach down and grab one.

They're not cheap but I have a feeling you're getting what you pay for with him.

His work is good but I simply don't like the style. To me they look like something out of an '80s sword flick. I know that they are good swords but I don't like them. Something about the finish on the guards, the skulls, and the handle wrap. I can't say it's any one thing, but the whole hilt just looks wrong. The blades on the other hand look great.

well, he mixes history with art. thats not dissimilar to Angel Sword.
I note he has a katzbalger in his gallery!

I really liked that ear dagger, striking work...

Katzbalger?! What katzbalger. I must have missed it. Could you link a picture of it?

edit: oh you mean this
catskinner1.jpg

I guess it could be called a katzbalger. It has a katzbalger like guard but the blade profile looks too pointy. Some referance for scale would help for blade and grip length.
