Hi guys [& gals],

I've looked around here in the past but finally signed in the other day.As I have put in my "two cents" on a couple threads,I thought I should do a formal intro [about as formal as a scatter rug].I'm Randy, maker of Deweyknives.I forge & grind but my preference is playing in the fire! I test my pieces to destruction & make every piece as if I'll keep it,[and some,I do!].Soon as I get a few spare bucks,I'll get my makers membership.I look forward to sharing info and getting some feedback on some of my work.
Special thanks; Ed Fowler for both of your books autographed [gifts from my honey] and a very inspirational phone conversation. And Wayne Goddard, Wonders of Knifemaking got me going and Cable Damascus DVD is GREAT! I've burnt up a lot of your email space and can't thank you enough for your valued time! Both of these guys are truely legends and gentelmen! Where would we be without their unselfishly shared knowledge! THANK YOU!!
And to all participating on this site.I've picked up some very good info here already. I hope there's room for one more!

Many thanks
Randy,Deweyknives

Thanks for the welcomes.
Kieth, yes,my site is pretty sad at this point. Not much of a 'puterhead but learning as I go.Been doing some homework and be back at it soon!
Thanks

I don't have a lifetime membership. That is just a title I put up there myself. It refers to being a lifer as far as collecting knives is concerned.

I think those with a knifemaker membership show up as orange. I know; picky, picky.
Keith,

Knifemakers show up as red on my monitor; but I'm not adverse to Orange!

Just as long as I can continue to make knives.

Not picky, by the way, just observant.

Fred

Shows what I know. Didn't know that makers names were redish/orange.

Are dealers or any other groups designated with colors?

Members are designated by blue(registered user), purple(basic member), gold(member) or silver(platinum member). Platinum is the highest level that a paying member can have. You have to be a gold or platinum member in order to SELL knives on BladeForums.

Makers are orange, moderators are red, and dealers are green($$):D

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Thanks Steven, good information. The gold and platinum was kind of obvious, didn't realize the others.

Thanks for the info on memberships. If I register as a maker,to what extent can I promote my pieces w/o getting the fireing squad? Can I post prices in the makers forum or just pics and link to my site?

Thanks for the kind words Randy. Things are a lot different that when I started, and welcome to Blade Froms.
