While there are still likely thousands of these out there, if a guy has a chance to pick up one or two NIB and tuck them away, it could be a nice keepsake years from now since Vic has shut down the Wenger line. For some reason, and I cannot say why, I just never warmed to the Wenger models. Dunno why.

But as I said, I wouldn't get them as an investment since they're so plentiful, but just cause they aren't made anymore with the Wenger name. Kind of a shame but I understand the Vic business viewpoint I suppose.

They are a tough knife and will serve you well for years and years. I can see Vic issuing special Wenger runs now and then just to snag collector dollars though.

Alox rocks.

I saw a Victorinox dealer catalog last weekend. It contained Wenger evogrip models with Victorinox shields.

They call those The Delemont Collection. Some really cool models too.

"A selection of Wenger pocket knives has been integrated into the Victorinox collection. Experienced employees that have been working for the cutlery maker based in the canton of Jura for several years will, from now on, be producing exclusively Victorinox Swiss Army Knives at Delémont."

Congrats on that nice Wenger. I really like those!

It´s a real pitty that this traditional company doesn´t exist any longer and the SI is propably also almost past in history.

An old Wenger SI is one of my two dirty work knives. There's a very distinct comfort in the bomb proof feel of the alox SAK's.

i just love that bail..

once you go bail, you never go back ;)

I'm curious if the new Victorinox Wengers will incorporate Wenger style scissors, or start using the Victorinox style scissors.
