I have a question about Militec-1. I orderd a 4 oz bottle. At the time I placed my order I thought specified "Weapons Grade" but the bottle I got says "Tranmission & Machine Shop Grade". Is there really a difference between them? Do they not sell the "Weapons Grade" to the general public?

Didn't know there were two disignations to militec. Have to check my bottle when I get back to work. Which ever one I have, it sure works great. Do you heat your knife?

Wade, my 4-oz bottle says "Weapons & Machine Shop Grade". I got the bonus pack, though -- maybe it's just a different/newer/older label on yours.

I got one of their free samples a few weeks ago, and the bottle wasn't marked as weapons grade, but I recently bought one which was marked as "weapons grade" at a local gun shop, so they are available to the public. Having used both on my knives, I can't tell any noticable difference between the two as far as smooth actions go. I've used Remington's Teflon Oil, Break Free and Tuf-Glide, but I now will only Militec-1 on my folders.

Check out their site:Militec-1

Wade, my bottle says the same thing. It looks, smells, feels, don't know about taste, the same as my sample bottle. Curiously my sample bottle says nothing about weapons grade or engine trans.

Hmmmm

My one-ounce bottle, bought from a local B&M knife shop, says specifically "Weapons Grade."

Sorry I can't be of more help ! :(

I imagine it's the same stuff just labelled differently, I don't KNOW this for sure.
