Another modified Western Bowie

I enjoy doing these modifications as much as making knives. This was one a little older then the one I did for myself. Mine had micarta scales, this one has wood. I redid the guard and handle and of course convexed the edge. I also put tung oil on the handle scales to seal them.

I have gotta get on of those Western Bowies of Ebay, I am a raving nut for the movie Jeremiah Johnson and that was waht Robert Redford carried in the movie.

SHS, the ones that are made now by Camillus are stainless steel:barf: . Check ebay for the older carbon steel bowies.
LC, you gotta get one, they are a great woodsman tool.
