so i was thinking. if i were to put MOP scales on something and put on a real bolster (proper term?) would i have to pin on the bolster then put the MOP in? or could i put on the MOP scales and pin the bolster in last? i'm worries about some expansion from pinning the bolster could possibly occur and maybe crack the MOP. so am i right or totally wrong?

You finish the front, and rear of the bolster(that is the correct term),then pin them on. The MOP would be next.
Don't peen the pins in the MOP, just epoxy them in.

Don't forget a respirator, MOP can be very harmful to the system.

thanks a lot... i figured there was too much room for error if i were to try to pin on the rear bolster after the mop. one more question..... once i have the MOP lined up for drilling any suggestion on what to use to hold it in place, rubber tipped clamps work fine? and of course back it with wood so i don't blow holes through. then i'm going to line up my bolster(rear) stock and clamp it on... pull off the MOP and pin the bolster(rear), and then i can epoxy the MOP and clean it all up the next day. did i miss anything?

Make sure everything fits, before buttering it all up with epoxy. ;)

You might also want to put a couple of layers of masking tape on the backside of the MOP, to help the wood backing before drilling.:D

Make sure to use new drills, and keep everything cool.

Good luck.
