Does anyone know who made the knife Willem Dafoe's character ( Virgil Cole) carried in Flight of the Intruder. The blade looks a little like a Cold Steel Trailmaster Bowie, but the handle looks a lot more robust. From reading Dietmer Pohl's book on tactical knives I know Gil Hibben was making some cool stuff carried by our troops, but I doubt the film makers were knowledgeable enough to get him to make the movie knife. I could be wrong though. Someone please enlighten me.

Thanks.

It was a Cold Steel Trailmaster. If I remember right Cutlery Shoppe even had special "Flight of The Intruder" Trailmasters for sale around the time of the movie. The Trailmaster had the Movie logo on it with a A-6 Intruder on the blade.

It's a Trailmaster Pattern in Stainless but blackened and it has a black Micarta handle with a heavy duty leather sheath. The blackening is very poor and came off to a degree on most of them. But all in all it is still a very cool knife. I have #318 pictured and #58 which I use outdoors. It works well and always impresses.
