clone7 is the winner! He has guess correctly, Isabel, full name being Eva Isabel Hawkins
Thank you to all who took part, and MORIMOTOM, I commend your many efforts!
Right,
firstly a bit about myself... I am Alex... I like sharp things... I like sharp Busse things... I grew up in the country side of South England at weekends where my grandad lived, and used to love building my own dens, tree houses, bows and arrows, spears, flint axes... you name it.. I loved doing it...
My father also lived there as a boy, and I had access to his shed full of boys toys.. air guns, rifles, axes, knives, tools etc, and had a lot of fun playing with them and generally getting up to mischief in the surrounding miles of farm land...
I always liked knives from an early age... and my father has always ALWAYS been a preacher of buying the best quality tools you can afford, but until I found Busse, I never knew that you could like sharp pointy things this much...
When I first stumbled onto this Busse forum, I had been pointed here from the CRK forum... I had grown up thinking that the toughest knives were Chris Reeve, and that one day I might own one... a member of the CRK forum pointed me to the Busse forum, stating that the FBM would be the best first buy of a knife if I could afford it...
Although I am a new member here really, only joining in January, I have never seen this level of 'family feeling' on any forum... anywhere. Period.
I have asked stupid questions, and I have asked some fairly clever questions, and I have learned a lot... at first I was amazed at the abbreviations of all the blades, but can now easily recognize all Busse at the drop of a hat... my girl friend of 10 years even thinks they look nice, and the other day when she said she was surprised that Busse even needed to advertise their knives, as surely looking at them was enough to guarantee a sale, and that she had a favourite Busse (the assault shaker
), I realised I was onto a winner...
I would be gold, but signing up from abroad is a nightmare, and I've had problems with MO's before now, so have stayed as a mere 'registered' little fellow...
I have started up leather work due to my love of Busse knives, mainly sheath making, and I'm getting there.. albeit slowly....
which brings me to my little giveaway... I have now hit 500 posts, so I feel it necessary in the friendly Busse family forum tradition, to offer something up...
Here it is:

First person to guess my little girls middle name, wins a homemade FBM sheath - spelling doesn't have to be accurate
Scrap that... changed to 1 guess per post, as many guesses as you want, just one in each post! I need to get making this sheath, give me some incentive!
I will be using my FBM with standard handles to fit it, so if you have a FBM with standard handles, then it should fit yours a treat...
I eat the costs for shipping...
Now, I'm no expert, so don't expect Leatherhog or Chuddy standards just yet
, but I think its a nice gesture, and really want to be able to give to a fellow Bussehollic... One day I will have a collection, and have just paid out on our first house deposit, so couldn't get my custom, AND will have to miss out on the SH1A knife
, and things in life are really busy, so I can't guarantee a date it will be finished by, as its not made yet!!! But, I put time and effort into everything I do, so it should hopefully be a nice gift...
Peace to all, and despite my lack of being able to buy any Busse for a while... NO REGRETS!
Alex
