So I finally got my first Becker in on trade.Don't know what took me so long,oh yeah, nobody wants to trade their Beckers! Already looking through the rest of my fixed blades and getting ready for my next trade thread for MORE BECKERS(the madness begins!) I really want a 5 and a 9 next.Already have AZWelke kydex on the way for this girl, and looking for some replacement scales, not sure which way I'll go yet.Everything I've read is true, the factory sheath will dull the edge with a quickness. This one came to me in pretty poor shape.Stripped, rusty and dull.Spent the first night sitting up with her and getting the rust off and convexing the edge back into useable shape. Not done, but at least it will cut now.Seriously the dullest edge I've ever seen on a belt knife, and the edge I put on it didn't last long in the factory scabbard.Other planned mods are some file work on the spine and a patina/etch of some sort.I'm no stranger to the mustard patina process, but I ran across a thread on how to get a deep, even black patina on 1095 the other day I'm thinking of trying on the flats of this one.Been lurking around the BKT forum for a while, but didn't feel to good about jumping in until I had one of my own.Now I do,and other than the trade thread,I don't see myself hanging out anywhere but here anymore.Great knives, great guys and a top notch company and name behind them.Any mod tips or tricks are welcome. What have y'all done to your 2's? So here she is,my BK2.Picture from my phone as I walked my piece shore line here at Lake Hartwell,SC,looking East out over the lake.Action pics coming soon!
