I was reading zrfunited's thread this afternoon and my wife asked me what I was reading. I said a "My Wife Loves Me Thread". She reminded me that she loved me too and that she bought me a nice antique machinist box to show me how much.

She was at 2nd Sunday a couple months ago and spotted this bargain and bought it so I could move my knives out of my sock drawer. Pretty cool gift and a nice place to store all my fixed blades and about half of my folders.

I even have a place to store the stones for my WEP.

She got a great deal on at at 2nd Sunday, which is an antiques flea market, here in Sacramento. We've seen several more like it or nicer, but they want at least twice as much.
 
Thats a great idea. Do you put desiccant packs in there to minimize humidity? Cool place for your WE stones too!!
 
Wow, that's super cool :) I'll have to go lookin for something like that. I have a nice little wooden box for my pocket knives but nothing for my fixed blades, most of them I keep in a duffel bag hidden under my desk :p

That looks like the perfect set up, the felts in great shape too. I'm gonna have to keep my eye out for something like that. My wife is always on the prowl at estate sales, I'll get a call like: OK, they have this tool, I'm not sure what it is but I think it's something you can use......usually after a brief interrogation I'll figure it out. Looks like we're both blessed with women with a good eye for tools!
 
Hahahaha well I meant with all the goodies inside PG :p i might go looking around for one like that though good place to store knives and other man "jewelry"

She does love you! I like the idea of using a box like that for storing the collection. Like yours used to be, my collection is in "sock drawers".

The AG Russell mens catalog has a similar box, but I have never pulled the trigger on that purchase.

That is a very cool box. It has character and looks to be ithe right size for storage. :)
