I was looking at picking up a new knife, I was looking at several choices the Becker BK2, ESEE-5 and 6. After researching online and countless youtube videos I couldn't make up my mind. As I understood both companies made great knives. I knew which ever one I picked would perform in its intended purpose.

So In the end what made up my mind was the look of the BK2... not the stock out of the box look, but that custom look that made it personal, Made it "your" knife.

I got on amazon, placed my order for the BK2, a set of micarta handles and a tek lock. The BK2 and tek lock arrived in a couple of days but the micarta handles shipped from a separate dealer but are in route.

I havent used the BK2 yet, wasnt quite ready to get 'er dirty... but from handling it, I like the feel and weight. It came out of the box with and edge sharp enough to shave my arm....3 days later of repeated removing and inserting into sheath it still shaving sharp. Looking into the sheath there seems to be minimal contact on the edge side of the inner sheath.

Well, I look forward to reading the posts here, the forum looks like its filled with good info and good pics, both of knives and good scenery.

The BK2 is a real winner. I ordered the BK2 and BK9 together for my first beckers and I'm very happy with them. (except my BK2's older high-glass sheath.)

Youll never be let down by the 2 my friend! Its a workhorse of a knife, that is backed by stellar customer service. Congrats on the new Becker, and enjoy your experience here on BF!!

Welcome to the addiction. You have picked a stellar knife that is in my opinion is "It". I have mine rigged the same way with a Tek Lok and micarta scales... The BK-2 is one hell of a work horse knife that takes no prisoners...lol You have chosen well..and post lots of pics.

Here is a little taste till you get your rig together

Good choice for your first Becker, I say first because there will be more in your future. I suggest the BK9 and 14 as your next purchases. not that the BK2 can't do the things the others can, they just enjoy company from other Beckers when not in use. You won't be disappointed, its a tank of a knife. Its a tad heavy, but reliable, it would be just about impossible to break.

welcome, Great choice! Stick around the board a while and you will NEED more beckers lol.

Let me attempt to post some pics....

A dirty, used BK2. Thats how its supposed to look. I have had mine for a month now. I just walk around the house (inside and out) looking for something to cut, chop, split, shave or beat.

BK2 was my first fixed blade. Enjoy yours. Glad your already using it. I got a BK14 shortly thereafter....

had my BK2 for a couple weeks now, but im just now getting around to testing it out. I love it. Plain and simple. I did everything from batoning to cooking dinner with this thing! Actually ended up eating WITH the knife itself because I forgot my utensils LOL . I also got "Smiths Diamond Combination Sharpener" not long ago too for pocket knives, etc. and it put a razor edge on my BK as well. Pretty impressed with it!
