Hello all, I have been following this forum with great interest for around two months now and finally decided to join in. I've already purchased half-a-dozen HI khukuris and have become a believer. Like so many of you have already attested, Uncle Bill has treated me right and I'm a satisfied and truely impressed guy. I'm not sure what I will be able to contribute to this forum but if I find something I'll definitely speak up. In the meantime I'll just enjoy all the advice on tools, techniques, trials, and tribulations.

Welcome. Feel free to jump in. The freaks...errr people here are great once you get to know them.;)

Welcome to the Cantina, Crooked Knife:) . Sounds like you've already got a great start on a khukuri collection. What do you have so far?

Welcome! Love your handle, very appropriate. Like Mark said, feel free to chime in anytime, folks here don't mob new people like some other boards do.

Welcome to the Cantina! :) Soo, what did you get? 6 in 2 months is a pretty good start.

Welcome!!!!:D
Where are you at in SoCal if you don't mind saying?

Welcome!

And if you feel odd being here, you're probably going to fit right in.

If you don't, just replay the first Star Wars movie 'til you get to the bar scene. This Cantina is pretty close enough to that one. 'Cept ours has a Yeti ( or maybe it's a Sasquatch ) rather than a Wookie.

HI: not just a knife, but a way of life...

Welcome to you and all the new guys lately.

Welcome. Hope you continue to enjoy this forum. This is kind of my home away from home. just about the only forum that I spend any time on at all. Glad you like the HI khuks. They really are something aren't they.:)

Thank you all for the welcome, somehow I think I may fit in with this cast of characters. The khuks I already have are an 18" Chitlangi by Bura, an 18" WWII by KS, an 18" GRS and a big beautiful Hanuman by Kumar, an M43 by RR, and a Biltong, all great pieces. I'm located in Long Beach just south of L.A. so I haven't had a chance to use them all as I would like but I did use the WWII on my father's Cherry Tree and shaped him up a walking stick from one of the branches he had me cut off. It worked real good, and no, my name ain't George.:D Thanks again for the welcome.:)

My old man's name was George, but everyone called him Curly. He said it was because of his curly hair, but when I called him Curly it was because he was a crooked sumbitch and not because of his hair.:D

I lived in the Banning/Yucaipa area for six years back in the mid 70's and early 80 when I moved to Oregon and six months later back home to Oklahoma.
Went through Banning a little over a year ago and was aghast at what I saw!!!!
Sure glad I got out when I did!!!!:D

Well folks, I have to update what's in my HI collection. My sister, brother-in-law, and mutual friend were down from Washington State for Thanksgiving. Both the guys are avid outdoorsmen but didn't have the best knives needed for those kinds of activities so I offered them their choice of my HI WWII, GRS, and M43. Tom took the WWII, Buba took the M43 and I got to keep the GRS. I have half a dozen other khuks I got from another distributor but didn't even show them to 'em. With good friends you only offer the best. Now I'm gonna have to replace those two puppies - more fun!:)
