So I acquired a Large Regular Sebenza 2008 the other day. It has a stonewashed blade / S30V. Today I received a Large Regular Sebenza 1998 polished blade / BG 42. On the new knife the screws seem to have a finish on them not like the shiny silver of the 2008 knife. It also has the old style original clip. I did receive a new style clip also. There are a few scratches on the blade but for being 17 yrs old I think it looks pretty good. And the blade is SHARP!!!! In the pictures with the two knives together the 1998 is on the bottom and the 2008 is on the top.

Another sweet score.... I don't have another belt sheath for that one. :)

Congrats on the score! I doesn't matter how many new knives come on the market, the Large Regular Sebenza remains #1 in my top 10 all time good-looking knives. Is it as ergonomic as a Sebenza 25 or Hinderer? It is up to the individual to answer that question. As far as looks and simplicity, it is too hard to beat. You are totally right on the sharpness as I once owned a Large Regular with same Satin/polished blade and it was likely the sharpest ever encountered! Enjoy

Congratulations on your new knife. The finish on the screws is probably bead blast. I sent one very similar to that in to CRK in the 2008/2009 period and they blasted both the scales and screws. They seemed to be on a blasting of the screws kick then. Of course my eyes are only so good so I could be completely wrong.

So YOU'RE the guy that outbid me on that one! At least it went to a great guy! Enjoy it for me and if you need a babysitter just send'er over!
