Just picked up a cqc7b with the stonewashed finish... I love it so far. The blade looks great, and I love how emerson changed the texturing/knurling on the g10. It is far grippier than my older 7. The lockup is solid and early. I have no negative points to hit on this knife, its about as perfect as you can get.. I am currently uploading pictures as I type this, so ill post them in a little bit...

I have always loved the black finish on Emerson's, but I'll tell you that stonewash finish has sure grown on me. I'm gonna be picking up one of the new 7AW's shortly. Congrats and enjoy.

Nice. Love looking at high res pictures of emersons. Mine is coming tomorrow, but I'm going with the black one.

Great pics, but oh boy, I don't need any more ideas on stuff to buy.

But, what happened to the other side???

Man, I can't get used to chisel grinds.... it just looks half done to me.

I love the CRK stonewash on my Sebenza, and it looks like EKI have done something of almost the same caliber. I'm not sure if I can bring myself to buy a stonewashed Emerson, though- I keep feeling like I want to stick with an all-black knife due to Emerson's tactical theme, and it would just seem wrong to me to get a "tactical" knife with a bright blade. Plus, I like the "weathered" look that the Black-T finish picks up once it's been used a bit and the steel starts to show through on some of the grind lines.

For genuine self-defense, though, a nice bright steel blade actually makes more sense than a stealthy blacked-out version. I doubt I'll ever have to sneak up and kill anyone ninja-style, but if I ever have to draw my knife to protect myself, the bright stonewashed finish on my Sebenza makes the blade seem just a bit bigger and more menacing in low light.
