This story was in my hometown paper last month and featured two friends of mine, two ABS Mastersmiths I'm lucky enough to live within a few miles of each.

I met Dan in 1989 and a few months later picked up Jerry Kennedy on the way as we drove to the Blade Show in Knoxville, TN., where Dan got his Mastersmith stamp....I've know Steve even longer....getting old ya know. ;)

Dan has been my mentor and schooled me in knifemaking for a time until I just didn't have the time to devote to it like I sould. :(

Masters on the Cutting Edge

Did you see how CLEAN Steve's Little Giant was? Where's the grease and oil?

Great ambassadors for knifemakers.

I was fortunate enough to be there when Sid & Dave delivered the hammer and can tell you that Steve's entire shop is that spotless. Each morning of the hammer-in (regardless of it's usage the previous day) the shop was back to it's previous pristine condition. :) I don't think mine has been that clean since it was new.

"Master Knife Maker"....oh COME ON!:grumpy:

People have been saying I "might be" unduly caught up in semantics(:D) but this is a biggie.

"Master Bladesmith" and "Master Knife Maker" are not necessarily even related. This should have been a point of emphasis to the author of that article.

Otherwise, it was just wonderful!:)

Best Regards,
