We managed to survive the Winter version of the "24 Hour SAR Pack Test,"
in no small part to the assistance of the USAF.

The 304th Rescue Squadron provided a SERE Instructor and a Pararescueman (PJ).
You talk about professionalism; them guys is seriously dialed-in!!

The festivities included a mock rescue; that's BruceW in a fetching Blue-Tarp-Wrap...

What a drag *groan* He did, however, make a complete recovery!

Ok, ok; gratuitous Waseon Steel shot, with the start of a bough bed...
(There WAS a fair amount of such steel there)

... and the almost finished shelter:

Perhaps more later...

Oh, now that looks like a great time, it must of been a blast to have the AF guys there, awesome.:thumbup:

Thanks for sharing

Sweet pics 8! I am really bummed I couldn't get out there. Working a trade show pretty much blows when you know all your friends are out having a good time. I do take consolation in the fact that I was able to hone my winter survival skills in my home all winter though. Burr. :o

Post more pics when you can!

I think I look stunning in blue, wouldn't yall agree?:D

Lots of fun and a good training. Having the AF guys there was a huge asset.

I was too busy to take pictures, so nothing from me:o

Looks like you guys had a great time! Hopefully I'll be able to go next time. :D

Very very impressive shelter.
Nice pics, thanks. :D

Love the SJTAC very much.

Great pics, that FSH looks like its seen alot of use. How's it held up for ya so far? A friend of mine is ex-pararescue and he's a blast to go camping with and has tons of first hand first aid and rescue experience....great to talk to and learn from.

Too Busy?!! Dude; you were just LAYING there  !!

's ok though - I gotcher back:

Nice shelter BTW... all natural; no nails, string or bobby-pins!

And before all the whining starts; remember I had arduous task of helping transport the rescue gear
to the scene of the "incident." It were horrible :o .

It is a truly GREAT knife. Takes anything thrown at it and comes back with: "C'mon, that's all ya got?!! :D "

Looks like I missed a good time. I've been fighting a cold all week and decided to stay home and get better.

Awesome pics  Keep up the training, it will never let ya down
