Flicking... I was wondering when u guys refer to flicking is this opening knife with a flick of the wrist or a flick of the thumb?

usually i believe it refers to the wrist, you wouldn't think you'd find people who would claim a flick of the thumb damages a knife.

I consider flicking to be a thumb-wrist combo. I find that doing it with wrist alone puts too much momentum into the blade for me and that I have more control with my thumb.

I have an idea for a new banner: Open knives carefully, flick BOOGERS!

Speed safe = Self-flicking

Those little buggers sure are addictive. You could also get a Benchmade 710, hold the Axis lock bar back, and then roll your wrist to flick the blade open & closed.

Generally I think flicking is a wrist action, the thumb may get used to on knives with a strong blade detent, but me thinks most of the opening energy comes from the wrist flick.
