I finally finished the Damascus knife I started back in the spring. This one is heading off to my brother as a Birthday/Christmas Gift. I am not happy with the sheath, but it will have to do, it was the last of my leather and I need to get it in the mail by Friday so it has a chance of making it to him for his Birthday.

Overall Length: 8 15/16”
Blade Length: 4.3”
Cutting Edge: 4.2”
Handle Length: 4.7”
Blade Steel: Dan Seaver 1084/15N20 Random Pattern
Grind: Full Flat
Scales: Blue Dyed Birch Burl w/ black spacers
3/16" brass pins and 1/4" lanyard tube

The handle is shaped fairly flat on top, but is really comfortable in my hand. Here's hoping he feels the same way about it, and appreciates the gift.

Very nice! I'm usually not too crazy about blue/purple colored handles but that one looks like a great match with that Damascus. I like the way you applied your makers mark onto that Damascus. That handle looks like it would be comfy. I'm sure your brother will be quite pleased.

You beat me to all of that - I was too busy staring at the knife. I agree on all points. Awesome knife.

A very nice looking knife indeed. Obviously far too nice for your brother, send it to me instead. ;) :)

I like the handle, and that is some really damn fine steel. Nice job. Somebody is gonna get a great gift.

Merry Christmas

Damn!

Did your brother love it or did he LOVE it?

I wont know what he thinks of it till he sees it, and that should be this weekend coming. He lives down in your neck of the woods, across from Ogednsburg NY in Spencerville, in between Ottawa and Prescott. I decided instead of sticking it in the mail on Friday and letting it sit at the post office all weekend that I would send it out first thing tomorrow morning Express so it should get to my mothers on Wednesday or Thursday and she can wrap it for his Birthday on the 2nd. She has been told to get pictures of him opening it for me.

Now that I am all set up to finish your steel I will have to start saving up for another piece or two:D
