Ok, so, to continue along with the whole Carbon steel/rust patina subject, I have been edcing my CV Soddie alot lately. More so then my other knives. It comes in handy in my line of work. Working at an alligator park and doing all the landscaping/carpentry/plumbing/electric work ourselves (no company is going to send their workers into a Nile crocodile enclosure to install a light, or mow the lawn, etc.,), there is always a need for a good, solid knife to cut something. Anyway, I have a pretty good patina on it, from cutting pears and apples and mangos, but here's the thing. Every once in a while, I'll look at the blade and it has some specks of rust on it. Living in a sweaty pocket, I guess it's inevitable. Sometimes I just wipe it off, sometimes I don't. Either way, usually by the time I get home, the blade is rust free. WHAT'SUPWITHTHAT!?!?!? Where does it go? How does it disappear? I mean, obviously if I wiped it off, it's gone. But even when I don't wipe it off, I go to clean it at night, and can find no rust. Now, I am still learning about carbon knives and what not, but how does THAT happen?
