Here is another new knife from my brother and I.

It is a customer's design with removeable Osage Orange handle scales.
The steel is D2 with a hand rubbed finish to 220 grit.

I have to say....

As long as I have been reading the Knives Annuals, from the beginning I have been impressed with the function inherent in your work.

And with the knives I have seen lately, I am only more impressed.

Your command of line and proportion is on par with the best out there.

I think a Jones knife may be in my future.

Thanks Guys!
I will tell you this, I did not like this design when the customer submitted it to us. In fact, I didn't start liking it until we had it finished. It did turn out very nice in the end.

Jens,
We clamp the blades onto a piece of wood which is locked in a vice. We then hand polish using plain ol' water as a lube. The trick to getting it looking like we do is simple (at least in writing). Polish all scratches out BEFORE moving to the next grit. When you get to the point where you have all the scratches out and all the lines are uniform, sand it dry and go in one direction only. You will need to use fresh sandpaper every few strokes during the dry sanding phase. Bright lighting is a must.

BTW, We usually don't go much higher than 400 grit when hand rubbing a blade. The knife above was done to 220 grit.

Hi Jones Guys,
Nice knife! I heard a rumor you guys are making a stag handled drop point hunter. Any truth to that?
Of course if you're too busy, you could always send me that other stag knife you have
