IT ALL STARTED WHEN:

THEN, I DECIDED TO:

IM VERY TEMPTED TO LEAVE IT LIKE THIS:

WHAT DO YOU THINK? KEEP GOING? OR LEAVE IT?

Leave it like that for a while , when u get tired , give it a hand polish or something , that's my usuall sequence of events

Why polish it to crazy when you'll just scratch/scar it up in use? Just gittin' to cuttin' & choppin' & doing stuff.

Just my thoughts.

I say you blue the knife, I've seen some great looking busse semi stripped then blued. It looks amazing. Either way you'll love the low drag of the un coated blade, but you know this already

I like it ! Has a real classy aged look about it

Looks great! I believe this will be the fate of the TGLB you're sending me. Stripper has no effect on the micarta?

I know I am in the minority but I will put it to the polishing wheel with a little brown rouge to even it out. I will certainly not make it shine.

Looks good, the two I have stripped are just a touch lest grey than yours but I like them and will polish the tglb all the way one day

The tglb and hr were stripped. They cut soooo much better after

Micarta laughs at stripper...it will remove the natural patina of greases & oils that you have built up on the handles and leave them looking kinda dull-- but as for the micarta itself, near bulletproof chemically.

I'd finish it out to, at least, "Competition" finish levels...but then again, I like sanding/polishing blades-- it's therapeutic to me, to some folks it's mindless menial labor...

I look at it like erasing a blackboard, start with a clean slate and then add all your own unique character marks through your own individualized use/abuse...

Plus, that layer might want to form/hold onto some surface rust...polished is just easier to keep wiped down.

Either choice, you have a WINNER, brother

Thanks everybody! I do believe I'll make a compromise between leaving some off those cool grind /(?) Marks and cleaning up the decarb. I'm a fan of as little maitenenve as possible, simply because you can't keep your gear 100% clean all the time.

I do like the character it has at the moment. The talon hole kept hold of a fair amount of coating, so I'll be trying to polish my dimples a bit more for sure.

Thanks again!
