Ever since Paul made that comment about the work needing to be "perfect" when you are willing to accept money for your work, I've slowed down to near glacial pace. Trying to plan everything before I even start. Problem is is that when this stuff is still new and I keep changing my methods, it's hard to plan ahead...:p

So, I'm still trying to get everything right. It always seems that there's something not exactly right but geez, I could be making the same sheath until I'm in the ground and probably never be 100% satisfied.

So here's my latest homage to the master.

The knife is a Bill Buxton damascus hunter.

Standing Ovation!!!!!!!

Stuart, your own style is starting to develop. Subtle little changes here and there and they are becoming part of your "signature". That little swell or flare at the mouth of the sheath. The toe of the sheath and several of the last you've made all have that little Branson touch shape to them. Similar ,but to my eye very different from mine. That's some more of your signature creeping in.

I hope you keep striving for that perfect sheath and I hope you never get it. (I know I haven't yet). It is that quest for perfection that will keep you growing, and improving with each and every sheath.

I am, oh so proud to have been even a small influence on your work. I and my generation won't be here forever and we need the new blood coming on strong behind.

Congratulations on your amazing progress.

Paul
