After owning a first generation Para and not taking a liking to it, I was skeptical about the Para 2 when I first heard about it. However, I just received a NIB, plain jane, Para 2 and could not be more pleased with the refinements....not even 24 hours in my pocket and it has become my favorite Spyder......for now. ;)

I LOVE this knife.

Thank you Sal, Eric, and Spydie Crew. :D :D :D

I never did own a Para 1 but after watching a lot of review vids, I think that the Para 2 is the knife Spyderco 'meant' to build in the first place... if the first gen was a rough sketch, the Para 2 is the polished masterpiece. The Spyderco Para-Military 2 is a great knife that keeps getting better the longer you have it.

Anyway, congrats on your new purchase! Enjoy!

I totally love my Para 2 and have carried it almost exclusively (except for my Millie and Sage 1) since I got it. That is until recently when I lost a body screw. I really gotta make a call to the SFO so I can get it back in my pocket!

I'll echo the sentiments about the Para 2. I finally got my first Para (1 or 2) in a trade last week. I never liked the stubby blade, bulky handle, or exposed tang corner on the first Para, and the Para 2 looked to have fixed all of that. The Para 2 does a good job of following after the Military in pocket carry; you get a lot of knife with very little footprint.

The blade to handle ratio is great, and the ergos are spot on. I was absolutely floored how smooth the Comp lock is. Smoother than my buttery Lum liner lock, smoother than the CBBL and Bolt Action lock, at least as smooth as an Axis lock. The Comp lock seems much easier to manipulate, while being at least as strong yet simpler than any of those. Fingers are never in the way during release, and I don't see how I could accidentally release it it. It really has me spoiled, I push the tab and the knife closes effortlessly.

Now, if only there was a military 2 HAHAHA

I've been thinking about that since getting the Para.

I wonder what the Military would be like with the Compression Lock instead of the Nested Linerlock.....maybe making the cutout for the CL a little more accessible for gloved use while keeping everything else the same.

Just sayin'....:D
