Another Paul Long Sheath

Well after seeing some recent photos here of some Paul Long(sheathmaker here on the forum)sheaths I decided to contact Paul and have a LOOOOONNNGG awaited needed sheath for my Mnandi. The Mnandi does not fit in the small SRK pouch at all. The Mnandi fits in the pouch very loosely and falls out.
So, here it is in Ostrich. I love the craftsmanship but most of all the help that Paul gave and the trust that he put in me to pay for the sheath AFTER I received it.
Tell me though. How should the knife reside in the pouch? It seems to be a little easier of the pivot is up. The fit is very snug and if I try to pull it out from the pocket clip end it proves to be more difficult. It's fine either way as long as the knife stays secure.

mmmmm, hard to tell, Michael. Why don't you send me the knife and sheath, and I'll try it for a year or two and let you know.

looks great, if you don't mine me asking, was it expensive? i would like one in a light color leather. and buy the way, what his email......

$53. Originally it was $65 plus shipping but he reduced it because since it was so small and fit in a smaller shipping envelope. Plus I didn't want the pocket clip. Very very honest guy.

Let me ring in here. The sheath is intended for the tapered end of the Mnandi to be UP^, pivot down as it is shown in the photo. I was not even aware that the Mnandi had a clip on the knife as the first one I made for Ed was sans clip. All these sheaths whether Lg. Sm. Seb, or Mnandi will be very snug at initial insertion, but they will set to the knife very quickly and retain a secure fit for the knife.

They can be made from just about any leather I stock, but the Shark or just plain cowhide has been the most popular. They are all fully lined with 2oz. cowhide with exterior being either the exotic leathers or more 2oz. cowhide. The cowhide can be tooled. They can be made with or without the pocket clip.

Check my sig line. lots of information there. Also: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...nza-Sheath-Carry-System?p=9634350#post9634350

In that link I like the top left sheath. Great color.

Wow is that some beautiful leather! Really classy. The knife is beautiful also.

I will second everything you said about Paul, I had a great experience dealing with him.

I just got one in Elephant for my large sebenza. I wear it clipped to the inside of my suit coat and use the lanyard to remove from the sheath. I love these!

I'm absolutely loving my sharkskin sheath for my small reg. seb.

It works great clipped to my rfp and no clip on the knife.

EXACTLY what I was looking for...and now I think I might be in the need for another one....
