Got up this morning and found out I had the day off from work :D

Figured, well its a good day to get the pickup washed, get my hair cut and go check out the local pawn shop...

As of late they haven't gotten much in that was to spectacular, so I really didn't have my hopes to high.

When I walked up to the knife case I spotted a couple Schrade sheaths.
The knives were inside so I wasn't sure what model they were, and figured they were probably current overseas production.
I got a pleasant surprise when I opened them. U.S 194OT'S. Mint condition..
I'm not a Schrade expert but I noticed they didn't have the + after the Schrade so I figured they were earlier Carbon Steel versions.
I never have thought the Old Timers were much to look at but they sure are a great knife to use.

Actually a very nice little knife. Measures 3 7/8 inches closed and locks like a vault. For 20.00 I couldn't leave without one. Almost bought both but thought what the heck do I need both for ? Well they are still open until 6:00 so I guess I still have time to go back :D

You left a SchradeUSA all alone?! Shame on you. You're a bad knife person. Possession privileges revoked. Send 'em all to me. (The Schrades, that is.) :D

Great score. Little surprises like that are the best.

thx - cpr

I have one of these with the carbon steel blade...every bit as nice as my Case bare head with the addition of the liner lock... great find!

I got tied up around the house doin stuff, but I think I'll swing by in the a.m and bring the other one home.....
This one seems to be missin his brother :D

The spring on this one is so strong, the lock seems kinda redundant.
I've never been real big on wearing stuff on my belt, but I think tomorrow I'll give it a try.....

Looks like a good find, the local pawn shop only had an old beat up, busted 550 Grip they wanted 60 bucks for, firm. A buddy told me they had a GEC trapper about a week earlier.

Being a smaller town, we only have 2 shops to choose from. The one I was at today usually has realistic prices on their stuff. The other one has a variety of stuff and its all way over priced so I don't go there often....
To find the good stuff, a guy really needs to go almost everyday cause theres other folks lookin for good finds too. But I probably only go in every couple weeks or so, I just don't have time.

You passed over a perfectly good Made-in-the-USA Schrade? Post reported to moderator.

:p:D

The sheaths are a bonus. They fit that knife really well, but they pattern did not automatically come with one. I really like that pattern too. Great pick up. By all means go back and get the other one, even if to recoup the price of the other one, and then some.

Nice score.

My all time favorite Old Timer. A pure pocket scalpel , and my very first Old Timer.

Thanks thawk.. I didn't know that only some of them came with the sheaths.
That makes it even better :D. This one doesn't look like its ever had a belt through the loop.

Great find.
20$ is a good price for the knife alone, with the sheath its even better.

I like the looks of the schrade knives - plain and functional. I couldnt imagine a Old Timer without the delrin scales, it just wouldnt look right.

I found one of those original USA with the Schrade + at the local aniques place. I already owned the next gen version being built in China since Schrade closed.

The carbon steel in the original USA version cuts the heck out of things much better than the newer version.

Nice find, I like the sheath too.

Very nice encounter!
We don't have pawn shops here, only porn shops and they can be interesting but you don't leave with enduring bargains:D
