I know what you're thinking...why is a guy with seven whole posts in five years starting another pay it forward?
Because things are going pretty good for me (I'm knocking on wood as I type this--one of my two superstitions).
I have a wonderful wife, and two fine healthy children. At the age of thirty-five, and after a lot of hard work, I have recently graduated from college, passed my professional boards, completed my preceptorship, and now have a good-paying job with great benefits that I actually like, even though I've never worked harder in my life, and still have a lot to learn.
I am blessed by a great family and many friends who have and will continue to support/encourage/help me whenever I need it, and most of the time when I don't.
Nothing major is wrong right now (still knocking on wood), and I've recently started learning how not to let the little stuff bother me so much.
In short, life is good. I have been given much, and I feel as though I should share, not just with those I know and love, but with a bunch of strangers whose writings about knives I have enjoyed immensely.
Anyway, the knife is a slightly used D2 Queen large congress with carved stag bone handles. No box, no papers. I made a semi-successful attempt to sharpen it. It has never been abused, but it has been neglected. The neglect is nothing that a thorough cleaning won't fix. No pictures, but here's a link:

The rules are just like any other pay it forward. Post to this thread saying you want it, and your name goes in the hat. I'll pull a name out of the hat on Oct 28th, and send that person the knife, with the understanding that that person is obligated to put up the next knife.
One other thing--did I mention that I have TWO superstitions? I'm going to need whoever wins the knife to send me a coin. Need not be anything fancy, a penny will suffice, but a coin it must be.
That's it. Good luck.
