Hey all here is another "plain" one. I really don't know what to call it. Is it a bird and trout or just a utility knife?

The blade is made out of differentially heat treated 15N20 high carbon steel.

The blade shape is a scaled down version of my Jade Fighter and the handle shape is a slightly modified Gent's Folder profile. The scales are African Blackwood, and the spacers are anodized titanium.

With a blade thickness of 1/16 and an overall length of 7 inches, she weighs in at just less than 2 ounces, and is dang near hair popping sharp without honing.

Let me know what you think and what I should catagorize this as. Thanks in advance

HeHeHe....I got a good laugh out of that one. Have at it man, at least you asked first. ;) I can bring some templates to the Badger Show for ya.

Thanks for the laugh and the compliment.

LMAO! I was going to say the same thing, but Michael beat me to it.:D

Nice looking knife!!:D

I'd call it cool, but work wise, I'm thinking bird and trout/kitchen-paring

Very cool design and thin it should cut like nobodies tomorrow.

Thanks guys. She looked better before i had an "accident" trying to grind in a false edge.

I was actually suprised that i could get a distict bevel on such thin stock. Well as distinct as this boy can do. But she slipped on the false edge and I had to modify the look and kinda run every thing together.

Next time I will not try the false edge, or else just try to put a small on on it.

Anybody know how well 15N20 performs? I know it is hardenable and is the silver looking stuff in my damascus, but that is about it.

Small blade like that, I'd use a smaller wheel for the false edge. Something like a 2 to 5", and do it first, before you gring the main bevels.

Try doing a light buff along your temper line. Really changes overall look. I still think it looks good.

Looks real nice, but I can't help but think that pointy choil would poke you at precisely the wrong time. Ouch!

Ditto. I would knock that pointy corner off the choil thingamabob. Beautiful knife though. :)

"Plain" pretty that is; has a Lord of the Rings look to my eye. I bet it would make short work of a banquet in the hall of any king. Nice work!
Regards,
Greg
