This one is a gift for a friend who has helped me in so many ways!! Thanks Gerald!!!

The blade is 4 1/4". The entire knife is 8 3/4".

This BUSH STYLE BLADE is made of 01 TOOL STEEL bar stock. The Each Von Hagen knife blade has been Rockwell Hardness Tested and has been tempered and bench tested to assure the perfect hardness -- not too hard as to chip but not too soft as not to be able to hold an edge. The FULL TAPERED TANG knife has a CONVEX GRIND blade. The BANKSIA HANDLE with RED VULCANIZED SPACERS has no external pins to distract from the awesome pattern.

Beautiful handle material and hard working knife!!

Thanks for looking,
Rick

Love the way that red liner shows through the holes in the handle scales. Did you fill everything up with acrylic or epoxy? I had a woodworker friend offer me a piece of pod and told him I couldn't use it for handles (if I had only seen this first). Looks great, keep it up.

I have been working on this for quite some time. After many failed attempts and several more that just didn't turn out quite right, I finally got it right.

Good eye on your part! Many people look at the knife and think that the holes are filled with red tinted epoxy. The holes, ARE in fact, filled with clear epoxy.

I used a penetrating, impregnating epoxy in a zero atmosphere to harden the wood. It must be done in this way because of the felt-like material that comes up through wood. Then I filled the holes with a "bar top epoxy." Finally I glue the handle on with vinyl, high impact epoxy. This will assure that the handle is there to stay.

Three different epoxies, three different results, one set of knife handles.

Thank you for your kind words.
Rick
