After more than a decade of "happy batchelorhood," this old bird is getting married in just a few hours.
Shes a good girl...I don't know if I should ask you fellas to send up smoke for her or for me or both of us.
I haven't been this nervous since I got that letter from my draft board back in 1970.

Mike, congratulations! The two of you will do just fine. BTW, has she indicated which khukuri is to be used to cut the cake?

Mike, congratulations!!

Remember, honesty and trust, and you will be together forever.

True words, rdnzl! Mike, best wishes, remember that after five weeks you're BOTH wrong, it'll keep you humble... Don't forget to take off the khuk when you tumble into the waterbed...

Don't think of it as losing the opportunity to buy as many new khukuris from now on -- look at it as gaining someone to buy khukuris for!

I want to thank all you ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, for your good wishes and prayers.
We had a simple courthouse wedding, not a lot of hooplah and such. It went off with only one minor glitch...I temporarily lost her ring! Thanks to the honesty of some unknown citizen, the ring was recovered, and the ceremony was brief, but moving.
The lady and I have already been together for 2 years, so she knows about my little khukuri 'problem.' I am giving her one of my village models to use in the garden. So far, so good.
We are both working folks, so we are delaying our honeymoon trip until warmer weather arrives and we can get vacation time. Maybe the Khukuri Konvention????
Again, thanks to all.

Glad all went well! Looks like all those prayers worked. It sounds as if you really found a special lady. She knows about your HIKV and married you any way. Ha! ha!

Congratulations and best wishes. It sounds like you're well on your way. It's the folks who decide to get married after 2 weeks that I worry about more than those who take their time. It's still a big and important step, but it sounds like the two of you know each other and can handle each other's little "problems" (like HIKV

). Just remember to keep it that way when you hit the inevitable bumps in the road and you'll come through fine.
