Im a pretty minimalist kind of guy and tend to buy things accordingly. I have been in need of a new pair of sneakers and wanted to try out some minimalist shoes. Im not big into major stability or support so I wanted to try this type out. I looked around for awhile and found some that I really liked. While not totally minimalist, they are way lighter and less supportive that anything Ive ever owned. I usually buy Asolo, Mizuno, or Asics when it comes to sneakers but these are Nike. After a couple of weeks I am happy to report that they are awesome. If you haven't worn less supportive shoes they are weird at first. In time your feet almost change and become stronger which is the purpose. Ive actually tried to run a couple miles barefoot but Im not to that point yet! I know guys that can do a 3k with no shoes and they run much better without shoes. Anywho, here they are"

My wife really likes Under Armour stuff too. She is a sneaker whore!

Do I get a pair if I buy one of your Sneakers Chris? ;)
They look light & comfy, just what I need after 10 hours in steel toed boots.

ummmmmmmmm. no!!!!! They are comfortable. I am fortunate to not have to wear steel toes but I do sport some Asolo hiking boots every day at work. I can't say enough good things about Asolo products.

I don't think they make steel toes Wilson. I have owned light duty and medium duty hiking boots as well as hiking shoes from them. In my opinion, without jumping up to handmade stuff, they are the best. My first pair lasted about 8 years with three resoles and I wore them almost every day. I still have a pair of hiking shoes with the backs chewed off from my dogs. I can't throw them away!

A good pair of hiking boots are worth their weight in gold (or silver at todays prices) on the trail.
Nothing worse than sore/blistered feet when you're hours away from transportation.

You got that right. I am pretty cheap by nature but don't mind spending some money on a good pair of shoes or boots.

Yeah, some things you don't really need to to spend a lot on, but with good foot wear you get what you pay for.

I wore nothing but Nike sneakers for over 25 years until I tried a pair of Oboz Firebrands, Now I am going to buy a second pair to wear while off trail, I also have a pair of Asolo Fugitive Hiking boots which are quite comfortable.

Money invested in good footwear is very well worth it if you spend the majority of your day on your feet especially in adverse conditions. Seems as though we have the same taste Chris. I love my Nikes & Asolo when landscaping. I used to be a big fan for about 10 years or so of Merrell Chameleon XCR's which is a Gore Tex XCR membrane & Vibram soles but have since switched to Asolo from a referral and have not looked back. For what I do it is essential for the shoes/boots to have Gore Tex & Vibram soles with the exception of Nikes which are for pure comfort in dry conditions which are normally better for when the morning dew is off the yards. But I prefer the XCR Gore Tex fabric which seems more breathable for my sweaty feet and Vibram brand soles last way longer than anything else I have ever used. I go through about 3 pairs of hikers very season regardless. ShoeBacca has good prices online for various styles of Asolo if you know your proper size. Below is my current lineup which I ended last season in. A black/gold set of Nikes to represent the Steelers and high/low pairs of Asolo Gore Tex Hikers. Just abused work stuff but well worth it; personal & hunting footwear is a whole another entity. Kind of a shoe freak myself (not to mention a gun, crossbow & knife freak) but I work to play and wouldnt be comfortable if it wasnt for the good footwear.

I used to buy sneakers like I buy knives, and the brunt of my collection was (still is) the Nike Free series. They've kind of expanded the line these days, but the basics (Free 5.0, Free 7.0) are the way to go. And for true minimalism, you could always grab a pair of Vibram 5Fingers.

You guys are killin' me! I have hard to fit feet, and I'm cheap. These are by far the best minimalist shoes on the market. One pair will usually last me a year if I'm careful plus, they're just too darn cool. I'm not sure, but I think all the cool kids at skool wish they had a pair of these!!
