I've also been looking at two Gerber knives, the Applegate-Fairbairn folder (the 4.5" version) and the Silver Trident. What's your opinion on these blades? In my opinion, they look nice and have quality materials. I have yet to see an unfavorable review of an upper echelon Gerber product. Again, thanks for the help. God bless you, America, and the men and women fighting overseas.

KATN, as always,

Wade

One of my best friends has carried the large Applegate-Fairbairn folder thoughout his Army career in SOCOM, 3 tours in South America, 1 year in Bosnia and 2 tours in Iraq that totaled 2.5 years together, and he swears by it.

His sorta looks like a truck ran over it after so many years of real field use, but it's going strong.

the A-F folder is "ok" i suppose, imho theres lotsa better stuff around now, some for less money.

i dont think gerber is so wonderfull anymore, a lot of there folders are crappy.

if i was looking to buy a edc folder a gerber A-F folder would be near the bottom of the list, the liner locks on them are not the best, no pocket clip, cheapo FRN handle, old design, lotsa better stuff around these days.
