sorry, I should start a stick named "please awnser my dome questions" :)
thank you for the help. I got some good info on how a nessmuk differs from a bushcraft knife. thank you.
so, I want to consider another bark river knife and I tried looking at their site but the info was old. which models are more bushcraft than camp oriented?
I was looking at the mountainman and though there may not be enough tip to it. some I thought were hunters but I saw the gameskeeper on a site as a bushcraft blade. so if anyone can give a quick list of which knives are bushcraft blades, I would appreciate it.
p.s. I am getting a bbushcraft book in the next week or two and I know I alrady have knives to use but I can't help wanting more.

Well, any knife can be used for bushcraft. ;)

But probably, the more common Bark Rivers designed for this purpose are:

Kephart
Kephart Companion
Aurora
Northstar
Mini Northstar
Liten Bror
Nebula
Ultra Lite Bushcrafter

Then there are others that can easily be used:
Fox River
Canadian Special
Lil Canadian

I'm sure there are lots more, it all depends on what feels right for you and what you do with the knife!

Go to KnivesShipFree.com or the Knife Connection, they carry the full line with pics.

I love their full-tang Kephart. I owned an Aurora in the past but prefer the wider blade of the Kephart for dressing game. The handle on the Kephart is very, very comfortable. More so than the Aurora IMO.

All of their bushcraft blades have a compass mark on the blade: The Northstar, Aurora, etc. But a good number of their hunting blades also work for bushcraft: Fox River, Highland, Woodland, etc.....

For larger size, they have a great Golok....

Aurora, Northstar, Little Creek, all Canadians and Gameskeepers. Some people like the Bravo-1 too. But I personally think that the Gameskeeper-II is the best general purpose/hunting/bushcraft/survival/camping Bark River knife ever.

I've been happy with my Guardless Snowy River. The handle is kind of thin, but I think this has more to do with the Antique Stag Bone scales just being a thinner material than the micarta or G10.

you nailed it.

Not saying they are right or wrong, but many experienced people here would probably argue that you can do better for the money when talking pure bushcraft knife. But for a knife that can also serve as a general duty survival\camp knife, I think BRKT makes some great blades.

I just purchased a Bravo 1 SS and love it! Great balance, easy to carry, thick enough but still shaving sharp! May have to get another one! And I have to say that knivesshipfree.com was crazy quick! I think I had it in 3 days!!

My Canadian Special does everything i could ever want in a bushcraft knife. I Have had my eye on the FT Kephart for a while and i predic it will be my next barkie. The knives others have suggested are spot on. Good luck with your decision.

kephart it is, I will also buy a puuko and a helle.
has anyone tried the ken warner utuility? it looks decent and affordable.

I too just purchased a Kephart from a fellow forum member today. Basically got fancy wood for the micarta price. I can't wait to get it. This will be my first high endish bush blade. Compared to my moras at least. Don't get me wrong my moras are awesome I just wanted something a little more durable, and A2 is one of my all time favorite steels. Any blade I've ever owned in A2 has been wonderful. Including my bark river bravo 1. Also getting a sharpshooter bushcrafter sheath in the deal. From what I've read in online reviews this knife is a worker. Gonna make it my EDC in my day pack.
